Splash Pad Fun!

In downtown Lee's Summit in front of City Hall they have a little splash pad that the kids loved! The best part is it's close to us and there was no one else there!!

Fun with Grammy & Grampa

My parents were finally able to take a little break from Vegas and spend some time at the lake! The kids and I went down last week and spent a couple of days with them and then again this week where the girls got to stay an extra couple of days without mom & dad! Even though it was insanely hot, we had a great time watching the kids play in the pool and on the boat! We miss you already Grammy and Grampa!! Love you!!

Glasses

So we took Madi to the eye doctor because at 1 and 3 years old they can have a free check-up. Turns out that she needed glasses- badly! So, we tried on several pair and decided on a cute pair of Blue's Clues ones! We picked them up about a week after we ordered them and Madi looked great and loved them! She realized how much better she could see with them on that it wasn't an issue to get her to wear them at all. The problem was her little sister! Brooklyn loved to knock them off Madi's head and try them on herself. Three days after Madi got her new Blue's Clues glasses Brooklyn walked over to me with the glasses in two pieces and said "I broke the glasses." Seriously?! We only had them for 3 days!! Monday morning I brought the glasses back to the eye doctor and they ordered her a new pair (free of charge- phew!) and we should get them sometime this week!! Disney World

At the end of April we were lucky enough to have gone to Disney World with Jason's parents! Madi got to drive down with them while Jay, Brooklyn, Hudson and myself flew a few days later. We had great weather, except for the rainstorm our first night at the Magic Kingdom which completely soaked us! The following day we went to Animal Kingdom and had a lot of fun seeing all the animals and going on a safari. After another trip back to the Magic Kingdom we went to Epcot and had breakfast with the princesses, the girls loved it!! We saw Belle, Aurora, Snow White, Cinderella and Ariel which was definitely the highlight of the trip! We spent our last day at the Magic Kindgdom and Madi rode Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Splash Mountain- her two favorite rides! Disney World was absolutely amazing- the kids were fantastic and had a great time! They talk about going back all of the time! In between days at Disney we did make a trip to Cocoa Beach. It was the first time any of the kids had been to the beach or seen the ocean! Madi wasn't too fond of the water, but had fun playing in the sand, Brooklyn loved the water and the sand and Hudson just ate the sand! We had a great time on our first family vacation and we can't thank Jason's parents enough for taking us!! We can't wait to go back to Disney one day!!

The Next Picasso

Brooklyn was being awfully quiet downstairs by herself and this is why...



Thankfully they were washable markers and the chair is probably cleaner than it was to begin with!

And the Mother of the Year award goes to...

The pictures are actually better than in person! Poor baby fell and hit her head right on the corner of the wall and immediately there was a huge lump. We iced it and she had forgotten about it after 5 minutes! She's back to normal now, but I still feel horrible!

Cheddar Bunny

Brooklyn calls the Easter bunny cheddar bunny and every time we saw him somewhere she would point and say "cheddar bunny!" We had a wonderful Easter complete with coloring Easter eggs, leaving carrots for the Easter bunny and 3 Easter egg hunts!! The girls both had a ton of fun looking for eggs and eating as much candy as possible before dad or mom noticed!! Our weather was incredible and we had a great time with Jay's side of the family!!
